I knock over a 3/4 full canteen cup to see if the Heavy Cover Lid can keep the liquid in.

  • Hey, if you leave the lid on when its over a fire, will the heating up of the metal melt the plastic lid? (assuming no flames are directly hitting the lid)

  • @JustinBaker2567 If you are using hot coals you will be ok, but not directly in the fire. It is temperature safe to an extent. They are having a metal lid made, it is in production now, and should be available in a couple of months. It is a unique design and should work great for straight in the fire cooking.

  • That's the cleanest Canteen cup I have ever seen DUDE!

  • I was going for that upper class look Dave - haha

  • @canteencorner Thanks for the info, i hate getting ash and twigs in my drink so i will go with the metal cover when it comes out. Hopefully you will be selling it on your store?

  • LOL! Except are you sure those are bad wild mushrooms and not just magic mushrooms? LOL!

  • Can you do another Heavy Cover Lid Test? Instead of accidentally knocking the cup over, the scenario is you freak out from eating bad wild mushrooms and hit the spiders crawling all over your canteen cup repeatedly with a camp axe.

  • Cup looks awesome! and in WSR situation, you dont loose chow!!! woot woot!!! you know the important things.
