Even now, people still get confused about the title. He's telling the ferry to cross the Mersey. So it's Ferry cross the Mersey, not Ferry across the Mersey.

@trickstick84 I remembered afterwards; I had the film on VHS and "unofficially!" had a dvd copy made (very poor condition). I don't think it's out on a commercial dvd.

@RFO1962 Lis Sladen once said in an interview: "This was the worst thing I have ever appeared in. We spent 3 days on the ferry going backwards and forwards, until I was green with sea-sickness! Three of us were picked out to stand at the front and turn round to look at Gerry. I went to see it at the cinema with my parents, and I thought my career would end there and then ! I hope it's not out on DVD - I hope it's been destroyed !
