Tuffy Spasms

PET OWNERS BEWARE! In May 2009, this is what happened to our 8 lb. Shih-Tzu puppy, Tuffy, immediately after applying a topical flea & tick product called Vectra 3D from Sumitomo Corp. With 6 months of lip service from Sumitomo, and nothing accomplished but expensive and un-reimbursed tests pointing to Vectra 3D as the cause of Tuffy's spasms, I have had it with them. Because poor little Tuffy's condition continues, and we have received ABSOLUTELY NO CONSIDERATION (medical or financial) from Sumitomo Corp., we are reposting this video to ALL pet owners. Watch out!

BACKGROUND: On November 29, 2007, Sumitomo Corporation of America (SCOA) announced the appointment of Mr. Koichi Isohata as Chairman of its newest subsidiary, animal healthcare company, Summit VetPharm, LLC. We have been dealing with their head of Veterinary Research, Dr. Kathy Bolles, since May of this year - Yes, half a year ago - and NOTHING has been done to alleviate Tuffy's sufferings or spasms.

How old was the puppy when the flea product was first applied?

Tuffy was 9 months old at the time. Though under 10 lbs., Sumitomo instructed us to apply the same dosage given to a 25 lb. dog. This, of course, only worsened his reaction.

my dog is on vectra 3d. he's a 5.7 lbs pomeranian and he seems fine when i applied the product on him. i like Vectra 3d better than Frontline Plus. so far, he's flea-less.

What product did you use? We just put Vectra 3d on my 1.5 yr old Shih tzu and she did the same exact thing. My heart broke. Gave her a bath she seems to be a lot better. Hope to find a way to spread the word so other dogs do not have to go through this.
