Project-JK 395 Reward Mine & Funnel Lake Trail Run

395 Above & Below is a short video that WOLette put together that highlighs an end of summer excursion we did up the Ownes Valley along Highway 395. Along the way, we drove our Jeep JK Wrangler over a quarter mile down into the depths of the Reward Mine, visited the Manzanar Japaneese Internment Camp and then mad our way up to the top of the Sierra Nevada Mountains where we set up camp over at Funnel Lake. While we were there, we made our way up and over 11,000 feet to do some exploring along Coyote Ridge and to enjoy the outstanding views from up there.

Wonderful video and editing. Could you tell me what kind of camera you are using in this vid? I've been up to Coyote Flats using the same trail. You may wish to try your luck going up the other side from Big Pine. It's a tough trail but worth the ride for the wheeling.

@mobiltec you know, i've often hear about this "other side" trail but i have yet to find it in spite of all my efforts.

@wayalife It's called Baker Creek our of Big Pine. Check the map. I can put you in touch with someone who has done it a bunch if you like. My Blazer is not quite cabable I don't think as it's not locked up front yet.

@mobiltec okay, i know baker creek and have tried looking for the trail on top of the mountain but only found dead ends. i've never looked from the bottom but, i suppose i should :)

Hey guys, I love what you do. I got an XJ & ZJ, but we are so restricted here in Europe as far as everything goes, from suspensions to bumpers to trails... Happiness is a Jeep ;)

The brief "bios" you have on each Jeep at the end is hard to read while those Jeeps are on screen. It'd be pretty cool to see a full- or half-length video on each Jeep you guys wheel with regularly. If you have the free time...

@wayalife I stood at the top of the last climb into the Flats and said Im not going down that.... LOL... And that is what you would be coming up.

@toogood2139 Funnel Lake is up on Coyote Flats inbetween Big Pine and Bishop. You will need a map or other reference to get up there. The entrance from Big Pine is much more difficult of a trail but also more fun.
