It's a very nice jingle. I never heard it much on mainland UK TV tho.

The musical box tune here is called 'The mountains of Mourne' The last couple of bars are sung as, 'Where the mountains of Mourne sweeps down to the sea'

I read somewhere that each dot represents a major town or city in Northern Ireland. So from the right hand side (or more westerly ) to the left you have Strabane, Derry, Enniskillen, Coleraine,Armagh, Ballymena and Belfast.
It makes sense but I am not 100% certain

I've always had a soft spot for this ident, which is unfairly maligned by some fellow TV Pres enthusiasts. Lovely, absolutely charming.
