what's your PSU? If i decide to go to a higher PSU will I have to get a different motherboard?
MrThomasHandley 1 year ago
@MrThomasHandley My PSU is a Corsair 950 Watts. You'll need this with your dual GPU which I remember you saying you had so therefore you should have something of this calibar that came with your rig, no?

@Steve31000 I'm pretty sure it's an 1100 watt PSU, not sure of the brand though.

@MrThomasHandley 1100 watt is more than enough. Normally you shouldn't need to change the PSU for a new motherboard. It should be a standard socket connection.

I also have the ati 5870, what settings are you using for AA and FSA in ati ccc? how are your fps?
please take a look at my vid too :p

@nabarundevreeze I use wide-tent on full for AA and adaptive multisampling. Supersampling destroys fps. I checked out your videos and they are a great. I have one tip for you. Ati cards do not like fraps under DX9 and hence why you get visible lower fps in your movies. I found by accidednt that when you run under DX10 Fraps has absolutely no impact and you loose no fps. So when making a movie (or parts of it) use DX10 to record with fraps.
