I shot this from a hill top in the west end of the San Fernando Valley well over 100 miles away from Vandenberg AFB. As you can see it was very impressive and could even be seen from Utah and Nevada!

  • good clip, what is the little light like a star at the end of the clip ?

  • The star you see is the rocket exhaust exiting from the third stage as it's leaving the outer atmosphere.

  • @nblakeh

are you sure ? I see venus ! it's before and uper the rocket, you can pefectly see it on the clip at 1:16

  • You are right I thought you were referring to the exhaust plume. I'm not sure what astronomical body it is. Anybody have a star chart for that day?

  • I work on the GMD interceptor launch vehicle, this is really amazing to see as I have not yet had a chance to see the action! The great part is that you got to see way more than the guys in the control room get to see.

  • Glad you could see the "show" even after the fact. I'm always in awe whenever I see one of these launches.

  • Wow. Great video! I've seen quite a few launches of Vandenburg, I used to live in SB county, I saw a few after midnight, and if the sky is clear you can see them go through all stages and disappear over the horizon.

  • how do you think got here

  • ancient aliens the bible ancient aliens season

  • Shhhhh...don't upset all the UFO geeks... This is a UFO aright!!

  • @DesmoRob And why from 0:22 the fremes changed and then appears the rocket?

  • Interesting, but I have some questions 1- why you were here? 2- where is the original video from NASA?

  • Well if there was a nuclear exchange at least we would have a good fireworks show before the end came, if it was at night !!

  • @Demov12 : So "now" it was not a rocket?

Speculations, Theoretical Explanations... that is all there is about the Norway Spiral...Nothing "official" concluded as of yet...
