Jet RC helicopter startup

Starting up a model helicopter with a jet engine.
Most starts aren't quite as impressive as this. In this case there was a bit of unburnt fuel in the engine during the start. Pete, the owner, usually uses a gas bottle for the initial startup now to get it up to temperature before the kero is switched on.

I'm not sure what you mean. The flames are from unburnt jet fuel during the start up sequence.

Nothing like having a hobby where a guy has to stand behind you with a fire extinguisher. Wheeew!

Holy sht balls that looks dangerous! Especially because you have to start it with a fire extinguisher standing by. Pity you didn't wind it up to show us committing aviation!
