  • Dear Mr Townsend, other things that go very well with pumpkin are Brown sugar, Light Molasses and a real New England favorite, Maple Syrup. Honey might work too. It all depends on what you have around the house, or rations.

  • @tomcat061973, I was thinking the same thing when he tossed the seeds aside! NOOOO! They do make a tasty snack if you salt them a bit after rinsing them off and then roast them in a skillet over the coals. Can't go wrong with that!

  • entmage, I was going to say pumpkin seeds are tasty. When he toosed them away., I was like "nooo!" Looks great other than that!

  • Squashes and Pumpkins roasted by a fire are always tasty!

  • I always keep the seeds and roast them with salt.

  • Very good, nothing like letting a pumpkin cook by the fire all day slowly and come back to a wonderful meal
