  • I didn't know there was such a good Irish band in Israel?

I lived here in J'lem for two years and now I am leaving in 10 days, too bad I did not meet you guys...

  • Thanks shoel, if you come to Tel Aviv you can still see us, even if not the whole band, at Molly Bloom's Irish pub on Monday and Wednesday.

    All the best,

    P.

  • This is my last comment on this series of songs. But I am reminded still of the Bothy Band. These are great. What memories

  • Thanks again, franklymike, and see you in Madrid.

  • Here's a careful comment - I love your Greenfields of Glentown BUT in B and C part first half bar - wrong notes and wrong chord spoils it. Listen to Peoples - it's the crux of the whole tune. Great playing - well done. I've played in Murphy's Tel Aviv. Keep up the ceoil!!!

  • Well, I have finally managed to listen to the Tommy Peoples recording of Glentown. I see your point, there is a slight difference in the first bars of parts B and C and this leads to a different chord. But with all due respect to Tommy Peoples, such things happen when tunes pass from one musician to another. I don't think they are wrong notes, it's merely an interpretation. Anyway, the band attempted to reproduce Coolfin's version, and I suppose, if it was good enough for Donal Lunny...

  • Uh, yeah, I'm sure they also know Hevenu Shalom Aleichem. Why do you ask? Would you like them to play in your Bar Mitzvah?...

  • Uh, yeah, but do you guys know Hava Nagila?
