!!!Candle Flame Underwater!!! (Pseudoscience Examples & What Is Pseudoscience) SCIENCE EXPERIMENT

Crazy Chris is working in the lab testing some pseudoscience claims and shows you how to make it look like a candle flame is burning underwater!

Objective: To understand that scientists dont make decisions based on personal belife systems but instead test and experiment on claims to determine if things are pseudoscience or real science.

Materials Needed:
- Glass Jar
- Candle
- Lighter (Adults Only)
- Piture of Water

Step 1) Get two jars of equal size and line them up.

Step 2) Light the candle and place it in the back jar.

Step 3) Pour water into the front jar and then look at this set up from the front and the candle will appear under water.

HOW IT WORKS:
Pseudoscience is any claim that sounds scientific such as "welders are able to weld under water so a candle flame can also burn under water" but when tested or experimented on those claims dont hold up. Such a putting a candle flame under water or under a liquid and the flame goes out. To make a candle flame look like its burning under water you first have to line up 2 glass jars of the same size, place a lit candle in the back jar, and then pour water into the front jar. This will make the candle flame look like its burning under water. Some people are just plain lazy and dont want to do the work to get rewarded. So scamers often use pseudoscience to trick people into giving them easy money, (such as new age medicines) Scare people into giving them easy power (such as religous cult leaders.) as well as to get easy fame without having to do any work (such as conspiracy theries) A good way to tell if something is pseudoscience is when somebody says "Just look at both sides and come to your own conclusion." A real scientist would want to do a test on both claims before making a final decision.
