Have you ever seen one of these in person? Not many are left today. This car has been gone through for reliability, if you can consider that possible for an Olds 350 diesel. This car (since its an '82) has the improved DX block, over the D block that was produced first. The D block and its fuel system were pretty horrid. The DX is a far better engine, but either can be worked with to become much more reliable. I personally believe the DX ha more potential. Is it a powerhouse? No way, but gets respectable fuel economy for such a big car, and hasn't given me any trouble so far.
I just love the expressions from people I see on the road and at the truck stops where I fuel up.
Look for more videos of this car in the future!

Very cool. It's too bad you were not able to get it. Having a Cadillac with an old-tech, mechanical IDI was priceless.

  • its my goal to someday get a 350 diesel and rebuild it, making it as reliable as i can. and then put it into an old gm station wagon of some sort. probably early or mid seventys oldsmobile. and then converting it to run on vegtable oil. it would be AWESOME for road trips, and so cheap to run. and you could brag to everyone what kind of mileage you got, plus how little it cost you for fuel!!

  • Run that sucker on Waste Vegetable Oil!

  • Nice Car

  • Ha! Not a chance. The timing chain broke and stranded the car at my job in the dead of winter. I usually have more projects than I can afford, so I chose to let this one go. I would have loved to keep it, but life doesn't always work that way.

  • @CorvusCasull

Why would you sell it? That's retarded. Let me guess, traded it in for some new POS car that everyone else has on the road? Late model Toyota? Honda? Take your pick man.

  • I've read (can't remember where) that they're rated for 30 mpg on the highway. I dunno if there's any truth to that though.

  • :( I miss my caddy had the 5.7 diesel sold it to some asshole so I could move cross country, never made now I'm stuck with a fucking van I blame my wife.

  • @CorvusCasull How much did you sell it for?
