i do agree mac's can give you a safe side with browsing the internet and downloading things. but the reason for that is more people have pc's then mac's so most malicous scripts and autopwn links and such are coded for windows not macs wich helps with being able to browse any where without getting trojans or viruses or even rootkits but hey Mac and pc and linux are all good os stop saying one is better because each os has its ups and downs..

I One is better than the other one thats always the case, macs better than PC and PC is better than mac its all on what someone wants in a computer. I wasn't saying one was better I was saying why I like mac better a personal opinion that another person can take to heart or not. I pick mac because I write scripts and want to make videos and potentially movies and can't risk losing my files like I almost did with PC, people get PC for games and Microsoft word and such.

I have a PC thats over 14 years old, not a single virus and running with decent speed considering age. My new PC is about 2 years old, running strong and have spent NO extra money on repairs or programs. Tell your mom to get Avira AntiVir, SUPERantispyware, and Malwarebytes, and she wont have any problems. They are all free programs by the way =P

my moms already decided to just get a mac, and have all her stuff transfered to it. she's already tried a lot of different antivirus stuff, majority of the stuff she uses is the same thing the government uses to keep its stuff safe. So if anything I think its just the memory or something.
