the boy asking questions is doing so on behalf of Godard. he will have written them minutes before shooting so the 'actress' has no time to prepare. it's improvisation. he wants to see *her* responses as a french girl of that age. and it proves Godard's stereotype was correct: she's politically ignorant. the men in the film, however, are much more active and live non-hedonistic or america-obsessed lives
