I don't want to whine, but the graphics here has none of the charm of original MOO(2), instead it looks like cheap themeless Qt application :<.

But 3D part is very nice.

Is the project still under development ? Although this video is from May 30th, I only found forum posts dating back to 2008-2009 at most. Just understood how to play, I still don't understand what every technology does but it's very interesting. A bit slow though if you don't have the right planets from the start :)

What forum are you looking at? The forum at the official website (see link in channel profile) has posts from a few hours ago. The latest SVN commits are a day or two old.

Maybe able to be equal or even better to Moo2, but those guys developing it should get backup from like 20 people to finish it within the next 2 years...!

If you know 20 C++ and Python programmers, artists and designers / content creators / writers with an interest in 4X space empire / exploration games, we can probably find something for them to work on.

I like it but this needs more bizarre characters like children and twisted heads.

Saw few games and still havent find anything that please me as MoO2 or 3. Star ruler doesnt add up, Distant worlds doesnt either and looked at Endless Space, dont think that will work either, but need to try it and see if any good.

It's true yet this doesn't mean that one should not critize.All great things are born from discussing problems and possible solutions.This is the best part of a free and open source project-everyone who wants and has the skills to participate,does and something better is born.I've never played the MOO-series,yet I follow the progress with FO as many other free and open source game projects.It always amazes me and warms my heart how people work together just for fun and to create something great.

Do you mean direction for helping with FreeOrion? Check the forums or How to Help page linked off the freeorion . org website main page. Or do you mean direction about learning Python? Check out the Python website or google for Python tutorials.

i think the graphics are good aswell as the interface but does anyone know how long untill the 3-d combat thing is released??

@WahookaTheGoblinK I agree: MOO II graphics were cool because you got to see your people and MOO III graphics were whack because you are largely alienated from them. Very simple.
