We start our little tour inside of the Station Masters Office, where we see the table that will be used for Amtrak over the following two days as their Redcap service area. However, being that it is Friday night, nobody is here yet, and I will have to carry my baggage by myself tonight. Anyway, we head out of the SMO and immediately find ourselves attracted to the nice sway of a pretty girl's walking motion. After walking by her, we hit the block at Track 36/37, where we see an 8 car train of M3's on 36 which will be used for the 12:20AM local to Croton-Harmon, while on 37, we see the OCS train with its three ex-Phoebe Snow cars. Beyond them is the 12:10AM express to Poughkeepsie. If you have any questions about the video, feel free to message me. Comments are welcome. The video was taken on October 17th, 2008.

  • @milky27oreo Older sister. She works for Amtrak. She use to work for the surfliners out in Cali but got transferred to the New York division. She works the maintenance equipment

  • @OGICHI21 Oh? Where'd you hear that from?

  • @milky27oreo Amtrak is beginning to bring their Service back to GCT

  • @milky27oreo Much like with the Bell Centre in Montreal for ruining Windsor Station!

  • oh interesting. Track 36 of GCT was home to The 20th Century Limited. (if you dont know what that is shame on you!!)

  • Its rare for an Amtrak train to go into Grand Central.

  • I wish the old Penn Station was still here.. I could care less about Madison Square Gardens.

  • Penn Station hasn't changed much on the track level since old times. Based on the photographs, the "real" Penn Station also required to use stairways for platform access.

  • NYG is far superior to NYP. First, of course, it's an actual station, not a hole in the ground. And also, track access is much easier - walking down a ramp vs. going down an escalator is better. Makes one miss the grandness that was the real Penn Station.
