@doctorpapaya That's right, bring back those enlightened institutions. Separate men from their wives, mothers from their children. Put the great unwashed in disease-ridden dormitories and force them to do demeaning jobs. It's all they deserve, being poor after all.

at least he didn't have to skin the actual cow.. i find the fat and hair scraping quite mild next to gutting a sheep to make violin strings lol actually, i'd be leaping to do the hair and fat scraping instead of gutting a sheep

We used to have hens, and I hated washing the hen poo from the eggs - I wouldn't work with dipping cow skins into a mix of dog - and hen poo for all the money in the world. I'd never last five minutes without throwing up!
