  • Wait, shouldn't this be called "Deconversion"?

  • @PeterRabbitTV Yes and no. Since we are born atheist, you might say that he is deconverting back to atheism. But since most religious people are indoctrinated from birth have no idea that they were once atheist, and have only known themselves to be that certain religion, it is more of a personal conversion than a "deconversion".

But in a logical sense, yes, it is a deconversion.

  • Typical theistic response.

Don't address the issues and put down anyone that disagrees with you.

Besides, I would bet all of my money and assets that this "ignoramus" is smarter and more educated than you.

  • @FaganRoberts "Got stumped, huh?"

-No. Assumptions will get you nowhere, unless nowhere is where you want to be.

"Believe me, any issue you might have isn't worth addressing - lol."

-Personal attacks will get you nowhere. And laughing with yourself is just a little weird.

"Keep your "issues" with your guru."

-Issues? What issues? Commenting on my "issues" that are a product of your own imagination will get you nowhere.

All in all, I would have to say your comments got you nowhere.

That's sad to hear, I'm the same with my family.

  • there is only one solution...god must be a dog HAHA....it seems to be the only realistic animal (forced through human proposed selective breeding...which is observable evolution) that loves its master no matter what and will protect you, or at least alert you ha...and still would love and respect you even if you are VERY MEAN...it is an amazing attribute that a dog has....i cant feel love personally, but i recognize it....it is as if nobody told dogs that it is the hardest thing in the world

  • @village1diot heh...he can say that...he is afterall an ignorant animal....i love my dog....but yet it gets mad at people outside the house, because it doesnt seem right and threatens its loved ones...in it eyes....however i dont see my dog giving a shit if someone is fat or believes in a god as a reason to not love them....I PERSONALLY ENVY MY DOG for the ability to love NO MATTER what....that is very exceptional behavior that primates do not share with each other very well..i dont feel it

  • @truckcompany right, it's pretty much pointless to bring up the whole topic, all it does is create an uncomfortable atmosphere. My parents have been deluded for a lot longer than I had been, so they most likely wont even consider questioning their beliefs.

Don't you just want to ague with your father about the bs that is Christianity, but I assume he doesn't listen?

  • I don't remember when my conversion happen from baptist to atheist.

But I remember the day when I thought that given the unclear evidence of an afterlife, it was actually possible that when I die, I might just die and not go to hell if god was going to sent me there.

I felt so relieved and free like a massive burden was on top of me, life started to become so crisp, I felt like nothing was going to get in my way of being happy once again.

  • I'm really REALLY glad I've never been a theist, because if I'd gone through what Matt went through I'd spend every subsequent day with my head in my hands thinking "WHY... WHY did I BELIEVE this nonsense?!?" :)

  • I was a baptist, and deretardating myself was a difficult process, especially since my father is a Baptist minister, but I always had curiosity and an urge to find truth, even if it wasn't a truth that I necessarily wanted to know. I can see why it's very hard for some people to overcome these mental barriers...

  • @village1diot Would it be appropriate to refer belief in the positive claim that there is no God as a form of conversion?

  • @awesomewelles90 theres no reason to talk about your mom on this video
