I have received several requests to create a rapid variation of the traditional progressive relaxation induction. Per these requests, I have posted this video in which I demonstrate a rapid version of progressive relaxation. The traditional progressive relaxation induction can take 15 to 20 minutes or more. This modified version takes approximately 3-4 minutes.
_______________________________
While I was traveling in Pennsylvania Dutch Country, I stopped to workout late in the evening at a gym where I met Aaron, one of the gym's front desk attendants. While chatting with him briefly, I noticed that he displayed several characteristics of a person who could be quite easily hypnotized. When I mentioned this to him, he said he was interested in experiencing hypnosis, and eagerly volunteered to be hypnotized. This video shows the initial modified progressive relaxation induction I used to help him reach the state of hypnosis. Special thanks to Aaron for allowing me to post this video and to his co-worker for filming it.
For those learning hypnosis, notice the following:
--The use of eye fixation
--The volunteer's change in state despite having his eyes wide open
--Signs of entering the hypnotic state: stillness, intense focus, response to simple suggestion.
CAVEAT:
Hypnosis can seem harmless. However, the danger of hypnosis (specifically recreational hypnosis) lies in not properly learning suggestion formation and the effects of hypnosis, being sloppy with suggestions (not knowing what to avoid doing), and not following strict ethics—to name just a few things.
Please be careful. Learn hypnosis ethics, safety and proper execution before you attempt to hypnotize anyone.
Awesome video. This is one of my favorite types of Hypnosis. I'm still learning about it too. You should make more videos! :D

HI
Does it help to have a soothing deep voice?
hockeyeirik 10 months ago
@hockeyeirik Yes, it helps to have a soothing, deep voice; but it isn't necessary. A hypnotist with just about any voice type can be successful if he/she knows how to form proper hypnotic patterns and suggestions.
