Wow! I came across this lovely video tribute to your father-in-law by accident, while searching for Mac Wiseman tunes. What a stroke of good luck. I loved Bill's playing and the pure joy that he exhibited while he was playing with the other guys. Thank you for sharing that. I would have liked to have met him and picked some with him. We are losing our WWII vets at an alarming rate these days. I guess they're just going "home" to be with their buddies. May he rest in peace forever. Tom

did Bill play professionally ? Are there any recordings of his playing ?
I have looked online for more Chubby wise, too, yet am not able to find much.

no he didnt play professionally, although i agree with you that he could have. he was an auto mechanic by trade...and he could tune an engine just as well as the fiddle :)
my wife told me that Bill (her dad) had once written a bunch of songs and had even recorded one record by himself that he also sang in. unfortunately they were destroyed the fire that also destroyed their home.

ps. I think we hit the "flag" by mistake when wanting to add to the play list. I hope that doesn't make any problems as was furthest from what was intended.
