Left 4 Dead 2 running on my old XPS M170 single core 2,13 GHz, go 7800 GTX overclocked to 460,/1250. Medium settings, but was pretty amazed the game ran so well despite many zombies running at you :)

  • @hanrinch I never have any problems with online lag in Left 4 Dead 2. World at War makes me lag seriously

  • what are you teaching your children..... tsh tsh.

  • @hanrinch Yes that would probably drop fps significantly. I am just trying how this old notebook runs newer games. I have another notebook an XPS M1730 with 8800m GTX SLI of course that I usually run at, or my desktop computer with a C2D 3.3GHz and a GTX 260. But I am pretty impressed that still this old single core notebook can run some of the newer games at decent settings.

  • just so you know that online play would usual will drop 10~15% of performance compare to single campaign so i think that setting might be a little bit harsh for 7900m gtx go to run at that setting in multiplayer game.

  • ok speculation, 30fps in circumstance of no zombies and 20fps with zombies which were in single campaign mode. let me share mine : pny 9600gt verto amp 550/1200/900(1800) 1600x1200(4:3) all high/ 2aa/4msaa/8af(from nvidia forceware) single player: 55fps(no zombie/ few zombie idle) 41-43fps(horde)/ co-op: 40fps(no zombie/few) 34fps(horde)/ survival mode 30fps(normal horde) 22fps(massive horde) 18fps(modded horde/summon horde) well ur 7900mgtx seem to be able to catch my 9600gt.......

  • @hanrinch Just tried all settings on high, no AA and 8xAF in the level Swamp and plantation. Runs around 30 fps, dips when lots of zombies coming at you to around 20 fps. But runs pretty good since it is 90% of the time around 30 fps.

  • do all maximum detail and 2aa/2msaa/8af and see what happen, also hdr enable to all scale.

  • @hanrinch Everything set to Medium, 8xAF, No AA. Framerate is between 30-50 fps.
