@93rardo At first, The Free state of ireland had not much, But when De Valera and Fianna Fail came into power in 1931, we slowly started to grow into the nation we were supposed to be :)
I have a problem with replacing orange in the tricolor with red. The republican ideal was to unite green and orange around social justice (social democracy or socialism, if you wish), and still is. William of Orange was no bigot. His desire to grant Catholic rights in Ireland was thwarted by the Irish Parliament, dominated the great Anglican Lords, an exceptionally bigoted lot.
Was James Connoly a bad Irishman? He was a socialist who said that removing the British without removing capitalism will only change the accents of the powerful and the colour of the flag.
I know my comment is a simplified statement. But think about it, did the treaty change much for the Irish? The north remained British and the South remained under the economic yoke of the British. Only a united socialist Irish republic will bring freedom.
tell me how you make these vids because ive got some irish points to make and i love your vids, but tell me how to put video clips in your video and the music, how do you do that
Wise words, I actually believe in a united Ireland of some sort, Ireland should have total control of all it's domestic affairs, while in a confederacy with the United Kingdom (Like the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands) both sides of the political divide need to make compromises or else the political situation could so easily flare into violence again.
