I tried to hold back my tears, but they came anyway. I am an organ donor because of my uncle Mike, and I thank God for the times we were able to share for the ten short years of my life that I knew him. There was too much good in him, and he's still touching people's lives beyond his time on Earth. As crazy as it sounds, Michael makes me believe that perfection is attainable. 8 years, wow.......
we love you,
Shane

It has now been 8 years. I hope that this project will save many families from going through what Mark and Pat went through.

Kevin - this is a wonderful thing that you are doing. I knew Mike for a long time and seeing the great things that have risen from the ashes of the tragedy on October 6, 2001 have completely changed my life. Mark and Pat are an inspiration. Anyone who has pressed on through grief to help others is greater than a hero. I thank God every day for what you are all doing. Until now, I have not had the opportunity to thank you too. So, Thank You.

Thank you, for this! From Michael's sister Kim, this was hard to watch, but thank you for the video. It will be 8 years October 6th. For those who new Michael, please post something you remember about Mike. Thanx Kim

Thank you for doing this project Kevin! From a Mom who had almost 5 more precious months of life with her 16 year old son because of the gift of life.
Thanks again,

A wonder project and video to document it. A great effort by Kevin Haga and Jeanne Sullivan.

Kevin, what a wonderful project! I enjoyed being a part of the celebration of the Labor Day parade with both families, and OTS and Donate Life volunteers! Thanks for creating/sharing this video with me, and all to see. Mark and Pat- you are two of the most wonderful heroes (and my serogate donor family) in my life!

I think about Mike all the time and wonder where he would be now if it wernt for that tragic night. He will always be in my heart and hope he is happy in the place he is today. Best Wishes for the Samel Family!!

Mike's story has been close to my family for years and it is so nice to see the good that has come out of the terrible occurence. You've got a wonderful project, Kevin, and my heart goes out to your efforts, the Samel Family and to all those who received an organ and their families.

Your video made me cry. I got my first organ transplant when I was 16 year old because of a 21 year old who had signed up donor card and then got into a bike accident. I wish I could have met his family but I don't know who they are or where they are. But this video made me cry. I am walking in 3 days in the Give the Gift of Life walk. My first transplant lasted 11 years and I am now on my 2nd transplant. I feel very blessed for this gift. My donor lives on in me so I live to the fullest.
