After months of laziness, I finally have my first level put together. Like all levels in my hack, it has two exits, in the form of stars. Red stars won't always appear, meaning red coins may have other uses than completeing the level.

Also showcased are two of my custom sprites:
-A Bob-Omb which will light its fuse when Mario gets near. Jumping on it will reset the fuse, while being hit by it will cause it to explode.
-A cannonball that will roll along the ground, squishing anything it touches.

  • Looks good. Did you make these sprites and textures yourself?(besides the big Bob-omb at the end)

  • Yep. Except for the backgrounds (I suck at them), I'm doing all the graphics for this project.

  • You should make a block/sprite that just increases the levels complete and then disappears forever OR turns into a different sprite, that way you can have 7 or 6 stars per level

  • While not impossible (in fact, I know how to do it), that would require very long levels to be effective, leaving room for only about 13 levels.

What I'm going for is a game sort of inbetween SMW and 64, so I wanted many levels, while still having multiple ways to complete them. Making use of the 2 exits already available seems to be the best (and easiest) way to do that.

  • When are you going to release this epicness??

  • Currently you can find a demo on SMW Central. However, it's full of various errors I hadn't noticed.

The full game probably won't be finished for quite some time.
