Now unavailable, here are the 20 studies by Fernando Sor, played by the monster of molten metal, the Australian God of the Guitar, the ultimate shredding machine, John Williams.

  • I am so delighted to finally hear these recordings again after so many years. I used to have the lp! No one has played these selected etudes as good as Williams does! Why it never appeared on CD is a mystery to me. (As I understand it, Universal Music has the rights to this recording - go figure.)

You wouldn't also happen to have Williams' early stereo recording of the Torroba and Ponce album? I have an lp pressing that was reissued on the Sin Qua Non label. If you do, please post!!

  • Great to hear that my post has been appreciated! This is charming music, wonderful to hear Williams playing it. I've a few other bits that I may post soon . . watch this space :o)

  • I've posted some more Williams' recordings from the 60's :o)

  • Thank you SO much.

  • WOW Bring back my old memories...

  • Thank you, You Tube and John Williams for allowing me to discover yet another amazing composer. I'll be listening to this wonderful music as I find out who Fernando Sor is/was! =D

  • Im learning number 6 for a year 13 assessment. I love it so much!

  • number 8 was nice and spooky just like i hear it my crazy head

  • from Jose Sepulveda, the Hermeterec.......brtherjohn I, too, had that LP at one time and I cherished it....my roommate, however, COVETED it and when we went to our respective homes at semester's end, my album went home with him, not with me. No amount of cajoling, pleading or other inducements were compelling enough to get him to admit to having taken the recording, much less send it back to me! Ah, well, one lives and one learns. Let's be thankful to coolrocknroll, we owe him or her!

  • wonderful guitar playing
