Best thing I can suggest for your sculling is to keep your support hand (if you scull on the right hand side it's the left hand) really low down and close to your boat, and really try and lean out with the active blade so it's as close to level on the water as you can get..

yh, awesome, i wish id done it more i really want to try it in a river but i have no confiednce and my roll isnt the best. The roll i do best is a pawlatta roll and ive only managed a c to c once. Do you have any tips on the c to c or sculling? 1 more thing. This sound really stupid but do you have a ps3? i ask everyone this lol!

I was going full head in with my sculling for support and high braces in the lake last night using the idea of leaning back for more support :)

yh thts in a river or on a lake tho, besides, when you learn in a pool starting off tht way is fine but improvements need to be made so you can scull for support properly and confiedntly. I only tried it once before i went on a river nd now my pool sessions have ended for a while its impossible to get me to attempt it in a river! I rekon if id of tried it more i would dare but ah well.

Attempting to lie back into the water helps you when learning, because the extra buoyancy of your head and body with your BA is a great relief rather than sitting perpendicular to your boat and attempting to scull for support or high brace.

yeah, you lean to the side get your shoulders in the water and move the paddle a bit more. keep it so it cuts the water slightly at and angle so the paddle won't dive. Nd it is only called sculling, braces are completely different!
Hi.. thanks for the comments. Yes, I'm cirtainly in a learning phase. This summer my goal was to practice my roll and brace more, but I got more into paddling long trips.. which is also nice. I have discovered the wonderous world of wavesurfing, so I need to get better at braceing and rolling. I'll take your advices into account.
