My cat has been eating eating raw meat and bones for nearly a year now.

It took him a little while to get used to the idea of actually USING his natural talents of tearing meat and slicing through bones, but now he LOVES it.

It's just the best feeling I get when i watch him chewing and gnawing happily.

WARNING - DO NOT FEED COOKED BONES AS THEY WILL SPLINTER.

Raw bones, do not splinter...cats eat bird/mouse bones all the time and they are tiny and very sharp, so these bones are no different. Cats/dogs are DESIGNED to do this!

It is also safe because a carnivore's stomach is incredibly acidic and will digest more efficiently than our own stomachs. Cats will be fussy about the smell of meat and will not eat it if it is going off, but dogs don't care! This is because Cats and dogs have different amounts of acid in their stomachs. Both capable of digesting bones, but dogs are better at digesting bacteria
.
BEST OF LUCK - IT IS WORTH WHILE

You will save money too, not just on vet bills, because cats/dogs fed on raw bones don't get tartar build up and gingivitis, but also I get much of my raw meat and bones from the butchers scraps, which I get for free :-)

Give your cat a variety of meats, including beef heart, but avoid liver as it has too much vitamin A. Give only 1 teaspoon a week. Also give raw eggs.

Start slowly. Don't expect a mature cat to understand what to do straight away. Perhaps just start with raw meat, no bones. also I had to hand feed this cat for about a month till he got confident on his own. My other cat still turns her nose up at bones!!!

  • @daisyifraisy Oh yes its in oil, gives her a lovely shiny coat. I've tried mashing it up but she just gives me this look of "what is this? what do you want me to do with it?"!! being the spoilt queen that she is she probably would want me to eat it for her!

  • @Teddybearsmummy1 LOL! yeah, My girl cat is spoilt too - cats...gotta love 'em :-)

  • one of my cats loves eating raw, the other has no idea what to do with it. she picks it up and runs around the house throwing it around and leaving it! nevermind she will stick her face in the dogs raw food but wont touch it if i give it to her so she has her little tin of tuna instead!

  • @Teddybearsmummy1 LOL-that made me smile. My other cat wont touch meat with bones, so i either have to mince everything up, or she just gets pure muscle meat. With your cat, have you tried dicing up the raw meat, so she gets used to eating it? she might just not know what to do with it! also, just a thought, make sure the tuna you give her is in OIL NOT BRINE (salt water) as the excessive salt will hurt her kidneys. Let me know how you get on:-)

  • He is an amazing cat - thanks so much for your comment, :-)

  • he only left about an inch of bone which was probably a bit too big or slippery from him

  • That's great.... that'll be a healthy tibby tap. LULZ Who knows what kind of shit they put in cat food. It's probably worse than dog food as cats are seen as 2nd by most people. (if that)

IMO most people want a dog because they like subservient creatures... it strokes their ego...

But a cat is more like an equal... That's why people say they hate cats.. They expect them to act like a dog. How stupid. That's like getting a pet lizard and expecting it snuggle with you. DUH

  • cool, i prefer kibbles

  • Aww, I love him. LOL love what you wrote too.

  • In this video, he gnawed off all the meat and ate a little bit of bone, but came back for the rest a few hours later
