  • Chuck I just wanted to say you're amazing- I'm trying to get into VO and as an exercise I transcribed your first report and tried to read it. A testament to your skills, what you do is really hard! You spoke about 270 words in that one minute report. I tried to read it as fluidly as you- and I can't do it without stumbling.. I'm on my 3rd attempt :) Wish me luck!

  • @laguna4428 Well thanks! That took years of practice and some coaching from some other great L.A. traffic reporters. Good luck with the VO work. It's a jungle out there.

  • You guys are awesome! Thanks for all the views. You can see what I'm up to now. Go to YouTube account name froggy1067.

  • I absolutely LOVE that traffic sounder!!! Wish I could find it online somewhere.

  • It's a KNX original, so it would be difficult to find. It is very distinctive, though. Even if the radio is at very low volume, you can hear that sounder pretty easily.

  • Good stuff... I am a Traffic / News reporter in Fresno..Nice style of reorting

  • Well thank you. That's nice of you to say.

  • KNX rules!!

  • I have listened to KNX wherever I have been in the world since I was a child. I remember hearing it outside Johnsotn Atoll on a ship once. Chuck, your distinctive voice brings back so many memories.

  • When trying to pick up KNX here late night back east here in the Atlanta area, that traffic sounder is a big help to identify when KNX comes through the mess of stations on the 1070 frequency east of the Mississippi River.
