Gleason was known as "The Great One." That,in my opinion,is inaccurate. No other entertainer was as versatile- a great stand up comedian,a great comedic actor,an accomplished serious actor, and a music composer, not to mention having an active role in putting his shows together.More accurately he was "The Greatest One."

Jersey Shore is garbage - I agree. But it's CHEAP to make, so that's what you get. There are 310 million people in the US (not to mention overseas audiences). It's not worth producing these things for 6 million people to see. Big national advertisers spend fortunes on SPORTS SPORTS SPORTS and god-damned nothing else.

Gleason had basically done this act in the 50's and they brought him back in 62. To this 7 year old watching in PJs in 62 it was fascinating Adult entertainment. But this was already past its prime. There are no more Ziefeld follies, no more Rodgers & Hart, and no more Jackie. Now there's Hugh Jackman. Go see his show if you want big production numbers. It's not that producers can't do this, but someone has to pay for it. Without 25 million + eyeballs, it's not worth doing.

@Amzsie actually Im watching this in 2012:) Thing is I was born in 1974 and watched "the Honeymooners" in syndication in late 80's/early 90's and loved it(of course didnt tell my peers back then i did lolol) . Anyway with this great evolution of the Internet and YouTube I get to see the beginnings that I couldn;t get back then. This is so great!!!!!!

@TheJedgeworth -- Right on! The June Taylor Dancers were outstanding! Gleason put a great variety show together ... But then he ruined it with those hourlong Honeymooners musicals.

@9162vb48 What a jaded, ignorant little shit you are. Enjoy your life of inconsequential stupidity.

Those dancers are really awful.
Still, Jackie got to screw them. ... Alphabetically.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The Miami audience is the greatest audience in the world!!!

How do they go from not hearing their taps to hearing them and vice versa? Wouldn't the audio pick up something even when they weren't doing a tap number?

lmao
this show is brought to you marburos, lustre cream, and purina dog chow
Thumbs up if your watching this in 2011
