WULAJANJARA is one of the hottest songs ever produced in the history of the Gambian showbiz. The song was done in two African languages, Mandingo and Wollof.
Because of its cool beat and strong lyrics, the song is digestible for both the youngsters, and the old ages.
The song describes how some parents ruin the lives of their own daughters, by denying them their rights to choose for them selves men they wanna marry, or by forcing them to marry men they never set their eyes on just because of wealth. It also describes how some parents stop their sons or daughters from marring a person from a different tribe.
This is a big problem in the Gambia, and it contributes more than 60% of the countries divorce rate.
Wulajanjara is one of the most played songs on local radio stations in the Gambia due to popular demand, and its doing a great impact in the society.
