  • you seem very affected. are you an ex-offender yourself? i think there will always be social stigma, but at least the mindset is being changed. it may take a long time, but awareness is better than nothing in my opinion. people will think twice about being prejudiced.

  • hi knightofirish,i am glad that the video has touched your heart.i do believe that since God has no qualms forgiving every sinner for every sinner and makes no differentiation between "big" or "small" sins, who are we to do so.God bless you sir.

  • Please type into your browser "EEOC use of criminal background checks by employers" -- To avoid racial discrimination under Title VII 42 USC 2000-e(2)(k) unlawful employment practice (disparate impact) EVERY EMPLOYER since 1975 who uses criminal background checks must have a policy called "business necessity" to examine how recent, how frenquent and relevancy of your conviction's the burden proof is on the employers -- no policy is a violation automatically -- file a complaint with local EEO -

  • And that's exactly the attitude of the society which drives ex-convicts to suicide or back to their old ways whereby they can feel accepted and at least earn a dishonest living. Even if some are sincerely willing to turn over a new leaf, the society doesn't give them a chance, we just condemn their existence.

  • So what if the media features a couple of ex-convicts who are accepted by the society once again. So what if they come up with campaigns to offer that little bit of hope to a small handful of ex-convicts. In reality, the moment you are an ex-convict, you get the tattoos on your forehead which says, "thief", "trouble-maker", "worthless", "immatured", "undisciplined" etc.

  • You see people are judgemental. On the surface people would preach noble words and say that an ex-convict does have a life and needs to earn a living, and then claim that they should be accepted by the society once again. But deep down inside they are actually thinking that ex-convicts deserve to be outcasts and left unemployed to rot the rests of their lives for once upon a time being trouble-making pests to the society.

  • You see these people preach about the yellow ribbon project, believing in second chances, help unlock the second prison, it's so easy to make yourself sound so noble. But if you really were to have a company of your own, would you really consider employing ex-convicts? Would you feel comfortable employing ex-convicts? Or would you just conveniently treat ex-convicts with the "out of the question" attitude for employments.

  • If we all believe in Christ then we would know that the man hanging on the cross next to Christ was a Robber. Christ did not ask him anything of his past, he took him right up to heaven with him. Why as a society we can't do the same, may be they would turn their life over instead of going back because society treats them as an outcast...........I love your video

  • yeah, I absolutely enjoyed this video. I am a juvenile felon and it is impossible for me to get a job also. They just look at the mistakes i did in the past, and judge me accordingly. they don't know that after i was released, i got myself into college, and is pursuing a degree in Journalism. This video gives me hope, and I plan on using it as a visual aid for a speech.
