  • You didn't mention the difference in file formats. The 705 writes a .tcx file and the 500 writes a .fit file.

  • Can either device read the outside temperature in celsius?

Also, on the 705, would I be able to quickly download course data for the maah daah hey trail and the computer would tell me where and when to turn?

  • i read in other reviews that the twist on mount is kind of loose, theres no solid click am i right? it seems to be a concern if accidentally hitting it on the corner and it twists off flying...

  • How can I make a course on my garmin500?

  • It seems to be pretty hot in the room....( 1:57)

  • That was a very informative video. Thanks. It would have been nice to learn, or even see, if there is any difference in the data analysis once a ride is over. I take it that there isn't - the analysis would be the same, based on time, distance, HR, power, cadence, altimeter, and temperature.

  • @hmbmd how do i change the battery on my garmin 500?

  • The 500 looks like it has a few needed features that I would like on my 705...

  • Actually the 500 can do routing. You can create courses, and you can also now create workouts.

  • It can't do any routing relating stuff. Only the 705 can do it.

  • would you explain if the garmin 500 or the 305 can follow or make you follow a previously recorded route. if i ride a route, even though it doesnt have maps, can the 305-500 give you indications or waypoints of where to go? (turn right, turn left, etc)
