we got my dog spot may 2000. he was 5 1/2yrs old when he came to us, severely emaciated and having been abused. he passed dec 2010 at 16. its still weird to tell ppl we have 4 dogs (vaughn the pit, janyce the pit/chow, jake the pomeranian, and myles the beagle/jack russell/walker hound aka jack weagle). i think the best we can do for our pets is love them while they are here and carry on that love when they are gone.

My Jake died in May. We were together for 15 years, he was 7 months old when I got him and had been abused. I have a new dog now, a 9 year old collie but I feel guilty because I am forgetting Jake - he is becoming memories. I still miss him greatly but I have Pumpkin to look after now and she is a lovely dog.

Poor dog :'-(( I too have lost my family dog in 2005, when he was 14, I grew together with him. I got sick for that lost, he was like my younger brother. I will never forgot you, Black! :'-((((
