Is this a bunch of low-resolution photos put together, to look like moving?
Love the car, hate the "video"

@mgs733 Hard to record something that crazy anyhow
-
@pretenderpt there are more cars equipped with a R5 engine, even nowadays, though Group B cars seen on streets are legends alive :D
-
its known as an I5, as in inline 5, like an I4 or I6.
the letter usually follows the shape of the pistons viewed from the front.
the only exception i know is any flat engine, which is referred to as a F4/6, or occasionally (incorrectly) an H engine (viewed from above). w and v engines follow the same naming principal.
R would be a rotary engine, if anything at all.
awesome car, whatever you call the engine :)

I'll say recorded with a calculator!?!

thai is is one badass rally car
Looks like it is recored at one frame per 5 seconds and sounds like it has been recorded underwater. Still thanks for posting.

yes I know :( Recorder with SonyEricsson K750i in September 2005. Sounds awful...but I tried my best.

It does sound a little like a V8 due to the "gargle" but it's the 2.11 5 cylinder turbo straight engine (NOT an R5). The sound under revs cannot be mistaken with anything else on earth :D
