  • Any special reason you don't just crochet the waste yarn right on to the knitting needle?

  • @GayzeStarr There are several ways to do a provisional cast-on, and crocheting right on to the knitting needle is another good way. I do it this way because I happen to be much more coordinated with a knitting needle than I am with a crochet hook. :)

  • ...or use a Tunisian hook to pull up the amount of stitches you need from the chain.

  • I just started 2 practice knitting socks this way, also I'm knitting english style the way u do 4 when I do fair isle knitting. All this makes it feel awkward in my hands.

  • @dankimforde No - I have a magic loop sock video tutorial, but it is for cuff-down socks, not toe-up.

  • @verypinkknits Thanks! I was just wondering if you found this way better for some special reason. "Coordination's" probably quite a good one!
