I got bored and recorded myself playing You're Not Alone! from Final Fantasy IX on my flute.
I learned how to play it simply by listening to it.
I've been playing the flute since the end of January '07 (this was recorded on May 13, 2007.).
I also play five other instruments. The flute is the sixth one I learned. I started on the Bb Clarinet, then got an alto saxophone, followed by a tenor. Then I learned how to play the glass harp. Then I got a dizi (a Chinese bamboo flute.), and then the flute.
Here's how long I've been playing each (as of May 2007.):
Clarinet: 9 years
Alto saxophone: 3 years
Tenor saxophone: A year and a half
Glass harp: 9 months
Dizi: 5 months
Flute: Not even 4 months
I LOVE music!!

EDIT: Hmm, oh yes. And when I did this video, I was only 14 years old. C:

  • Ur good. how many years playing?

  • 4 months when I made this recording.

    7 months now.

  • your music sounds good, especially for only 4 months, but i would suggest practicing a little more, cause you have a few pauses... i know it's not easy, i play ze violin

  • Well... I have to breathe...

  • That's so cool that you play so many instruments. Right now I play the clarinet and the violin but eventually I want to play the viola, the cello, the double bass, the flute, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, piano, the oboe, and the yamatogoto. I'll probably aquire some other one's along the road. That's really good for a few months.

  • Thanks = D

Oh wow! That's really cool!! I want to learn how to play the acoustic guitar and oboe too! A yamatogoto? What's that?

  • I play the flute. Nice playing by the way. I love the song, so I'll have to learn how to play this. I've been playing for around a year now, but it's through my school, so I don't own my own flute yet...

  • @ff8fan88 long time has passed by know, 4 years more and i don't if u already know but, this is a tip i learned only by whistling. and is that the abdomen it's really important, plus that quick notes sound better if u cut it with the abdomen and no with the tongue or the throat. it's just the way i think, but i don't know about the flute. but believe is similar ^^

  • cool congratz.

  • hi.. good work with this ^^.. can you publicate or send to me the note of this? ty for the reply

  • plssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss tell me the notes to the song i wanna play it so badly plssssssssssssssssssss message me

  • Yay! Nicely done! I heard a couple wrong notes (they were eighth notes, so it wasn't too obvious), but you did this by ear, so who gives a shit? ^_^ Nicely played! :D

  • For all those asking for notes! There could not be an easier thing to transcribe! it's a slow solo melody, diatonic in the upper mid register! Stop being lazy and sit down and bloody well figure it out yourself! I know this kind of thing seems daunting at first but it really is allot easier then you think.

Nice flute playing by the way. I use to try and play the fluet for a few weeks ( my sister was learning) and I remember how light headed it would cause me to get. Quite funny really.

  • At everybody who want the notes... just reed the information -.-

'I learned how to it simply by listening to it.'

Great playing, love it ^^ good job!

  • can I have the notes please?? please..:'(( I don't find they!!
