Tecsun R-911 with Ten-Tec No. 1050 BFO receiving hams on SSB. The BFO is a bit touchy, but works decently. I need to mount it in something though...

  • Thanks! I ended up enclosing it in an Altoids tin to shield it a bit, but I should to mount it in something more proper at some point.

  • I put my long lost Ten-Tec BFO Kit in altoids box also. Zesty, Robust, output as I recall. As advertised it is a "Fun Kit". Used it to listen to my first Number Station Observations- Cubas V2. My unit would not track over very large range of Frequencies before having to adjust variable inducter, Ten-Tec says has to do with RCVR and not BFO kit- could be. I'm just going to dig up AM Radio and Beat a 455 KHz note over to my ShortWave RCVR- good enough. Note: shortwave bfo by: benzonet ??????
