In order to keep the temperature rise below 2°C in this century, the CO2 concentration in the air should be reduced severely. According to the IPCC this means that the world has to reduce its CO2 emissions by 25-40 % based on 1990 levels by 2050 at the latest. Even if this is done, there is still a risk that the world will face a temperature increase of more than 2° C. For the future of youth and the generations to come, it is important to make the secure and necessary decisions during the climate negotiations this December. From a youth perspective this means that a CO2 reduction of 40 % is the minimum acceptable outcome. It is time to ACT NOW !

From the 7th to the 10th of October 2009, 60 young people of 18 different nationalities gathered to ACT NOW on climate change. Youth created awareness through media and lobby work in addition to building up networks and engage other youth to encourage decision makers to secure our common future.
