  • Ended up being really good. Definitely wasn't Adams' voice rambling out the piecy rants between plot chunks, but Colfer's verbiage is damned funny too - and a bit refreshing (if less amusingly stuffy).

  • the only negative thing about the sixth book is the guide notes littered throughout it. although they're sometimes funny, they're annoying and they get in the way, whereas when Douglas Adams put in guide notes, he put them in separate chapters.

  • Yes, that's David Dixon. That said, he didn't voice Ford in this case - they had Geoffrey McGivern voice the role of Ford as he did in the original two phases. Dixon however, ended up voicing a couple of characters in the new parts, as did the TV Trillian (who I wish DNA had let her use a British accent instead of her American voice - I think she'd been much better than she was vocally).

  • poor Arthur... the universe just won't leave him alone. That and Irish novelists. :D

  • I love his voice. He was an excellent choice for the Bartimaeus Trilogy.

  • Yep, he read the Bartimaeus books.

  • Was that David Dixon standing next to Simon Jones in that photo?

I, for one, am looking foward to the release of this sixth volume. I read the entire series in a week, but the whole way through Mostly Harmless I had this cold dread building in my chest. I actually cried when I finished it. Then after I finally managed to calm down, I find out the radio series changed the ending! Bring back Fenchurch and Random!

  • I really want to see Above the Title Productions does a Senary Phase (or name to that affect, probably making a pun with the Latin word for six, sex,) hopefully produced by Dirk Maggs. But then, the finale of Fit the Twenty-Sixth was superb and delivered (as promised) closure that is final and absolute, so why tread on it. Also a new series wouldn't be satisfying unless they managed to get the original cast (though clearly they could get Simon Jones.) Well either way the series remains great.

  • The original series was by far the best...

  • Don't forget to put a bone in your beard.
