In this episode (#2): Extensive devastation of lodge-pole pine forests + "Complacency-inducing temperature-rise time-lag".

On July 1, 2008, Anthony Marr, founder of Heal Our Planet Earth (HOPE), embarked on his 40-states-in-5-months Compassion for Animals Road Expedition #6 (CARE-6 - www.HOPE-CARE.org). His first stop was the hellish Alberta Tar Sands.
With him as second photographer on this leg of his tour was co-author Taina Ketola of his second book [ Homo Sapiens! SAVE YOUR EARTH ]. They photo/video-documented this first leg of CARE-6, including a ground tour of the odoriferous Suncor Mine, and a 2 hour flight over 6 mines including a forced-landing-by-thunder-storm into the Albion Mine airport.
While Anthony was driving, Taina interviewed him on various aspects of global warming and his work for the planet and its magnificent creatures, with questions that occurred to her at the time. These topics are not in any particular order, but altogether, they do paint a fairly comprehensive picture of the Global Ecological Emergency, and should convince the viewers that Runaway Global Heating may already have begun, and the Alberta tar sands mines must be shut down immediately or sooner, once and for all time.
"Journey through Paradise into Hell" will be a fairly long series.comprising perhaps a dozen episodes. The episodes will be uploaded one by one over a number of days.
SEE - FEEL - THINK - ACT!
ps - A small quantity of gasoline was consumed to make this film, but sometimes, you have to "spend a little to make a lot". Besides, who killed the EV1?

Check out the vast expanses of dead pine forests. BC has lost some 80% of its lodge-pole pine forests due to pine beetle infestation, which is due to global warming.

The Chinese is cranking up production of the economical and all-electric BYD E6 with a 250 mile range. It could be my next touring vehicle. The Aptera and the GM Volt (too late for GM, who killed the EV1?)are all good alternatives.
