Kangaroo Blues. Great blues from one of the best Western Swing bands of the 1930's.

  • @gringoflamenco Moon Mullican does the vocal and since he also plays piano I assumed he did this too? Maybe wrong but thought it said vocal/piano Moon Mullican on the Cliff Bruner box set?

  • This recording is available on the following CDs:

Moon Mullican - I'll sail my ship alone (Proper, 2002).

Cliff Bruner - 5 CD Box set (Bear Family).

Cliff Bruner is on fiddle, Moon Mullican does the vocal and piano, and Bob Dunn does the steel guitar. That's a great combination for bluesy western swing.

There also is a new Bob Dunn CD collection out with more of same on Origin Jazz label.

  • Bob Dunn's electric steel intro is a bluesy masterpiece. Calhoun's piano solo also.

Great tune. Brown and the Brownies are one of the most overlooked masters of the era.

  • there is a german import CD that has this tune, it's a 5 cd box set.

your great uncle played a mean mean steel, that's very obvious. RIP Bob

  • I commented while ago on one of the Milton Brown clips and asked if he had said Mr. Dunn. Bob Dunn, the steel guitarist is (or was-may he RIP) my great uncle. Are these songs on CD?
