Lenny Bruce perfected the comedic style of "observational comedy" that was degraded by Jerry Seinfeld. Even though some of the cultural references are a bit dated the basic patterns of human behavior have not altered much. One needs only to look at modern movies where violence of the most extreme nature gets a pass while anything sexual is viewed with such hostility. Lenny would have found a comedic goldmine in today's culture. We need social critics to shake off the apethy. We just accept it.
