The light of a rainbow is polarized because of internal reflections in water droplets. By rotating a linear polarizer (or a polaroid sun glasses) you can produce a gap in the rainbow arch.

Světlo duhy je lineárně polarizované, proto je možné otáčením polarizačního filtru postupně potlačit barvy v jednotlivých částech duhového oblouku.
