Bob Hannah showed speed and determination as a racer, but also personality. Most fans seemed to love him for what he did on the track, in the pits, and during interviews. He's long-since hung up his motocross racing boots, but you can't take the personality out of The Hurricane.

I sat down with Bob to ask him a few questions about some of his past race rivals. I edited down a four minute version to approximate what most web surfers are looking for, but I've also included this, the full 24 minute version. Think of this as "The 45-minute moto of interviews." I had a great time talking with Bob, so I know a lot of you will enjoy every minute of it too.

  • I used to watch him race with my jaw on the floor.

  • Hurricane is still the best motocrosser of all time. Bob was the inventor of fanning the clutch, brilliant motocross mad man

  • @mharris867 Explains why you never took a shot at racing with the best.

  • Bob's the coolest guy ever! I see him all the time at my local airport. If you watch him in YT video with Mat Maladin you will see him flying in his planes. His sister and him are at my local airport cafe all the time. Bob's a real friendly dude. He's signed some of my vintage Hannah MX collection pieces....Lucky me! lol

  • Fantastic insight! I remember sitting on the floor as a kid, with a '73 XR75 at the time, and just being as close to the TV as I could, and watching Hannah in a race. One of those at the time, rarely televised national races. Not even sure what year it was. Might have been a Wide World of Sports episode. Way before cable, by possibly a decade.

  • you have no concep of this guy is unless you have seen him race, He was WFO all the time, and gave no quarter.

  • Bob is clinically insane yet brilliant. Just one continuous rant about himself and he is golden. I forgot what the were selling but I will be looking it up after imake this comment.

  • Classic Hannah. Up front and on the table. Good to hear you speak on old times Bob. Hope they run a part two.

  • Get another interview with this guy! So true about being nervous at the start! How it just eats you away hahaha

  • Bob kicks ass
