You are correct. If memory serves me correctly, Cameron followed David to save Steve. You see him briefly two scenes before he is jumped upon. Check out 2:30 and you will see he is the one looking at Steve who is standing like a deer in the headlights. When Steve is attacked Cameron runs. David shows up then.

The closing the eyes bit was nice.
Can't believe they left the door open, could have shut it, and just not locked it...sucks for her. Hope its a kool death scene
