That all depends on the bottom lol :o) Theres lots of things to consider when making rigs long or short and the bottoms only one of them. Another example is the water colour (clear or not etc). So maybe his rig length is correct for the water and fish in it.

ive fished here every sunday for about.3 months and never drawn a blank. my biggest was 12lb. But it can get busy here. And there seems to be a group of local kids turn up every couple of weeks.and they never stop shouting at each other all day.

This was his very first day ever carp fishing, it helps when Dad's there to help who used to be into carp fishing in a big way.

Nearly all carp rods are 12ft you will find!!!

There are larger carp upto the 20lb mark however most of the carp are between the 3 to 5lb mark so getting the larger carp can be a bit of a task. great water for having your line pulled. Andy TheCarpZone
