Archer could never have been a minister - not through lack of talent, but try to imagine him having to be constrained by a boring party 'line'. Rather politics has been the particular door he has entered, merely a vehicle for his own brand of intrigue and flamboyancy.

Jeffrey Archer DID attend Oxford University, by all factual accounts. He lied about his qualifications to get in, but subsequently studied a course at the University's Department for Education. Yes, it wasn't a batchelors degree... but Oxford batchelors degrees are inferior to masters and doctoral degrees by a long way anyway so it's much of a muchness.

" An adulterous individual, a villain, a perjuror, a person of questionable ethics, dishonourable, dishonest, fawning social climber, liar, cheat, a person who, however, has wealth, who has made money regardless of having zero morals or scruples" Money after all is the only definition of success.Mugabe & Saddam Hussein are also shining beacons of success.
