THEN: From 1973 to 1981 Zolar X gained notoriety on the west ocast USA for seemingly dressing and acting like space-aliens 24 hours a day! Their outlandish image was matched by strong sonwriting, performances, and over the top stage sets. Zolar X were for a time the "house band" at famed rock star hangout Rodney Bingenheimer's English Disco, and shared stages with Iggy Pop, The New York Dolls, Ray Manzarek, Jobriath, Berlin Brats, and Silverhead (among others). Kiss would check them out and Zolar X slugged it out against all odds in the pre-DIY rock scene. The now cliched factors of substance abuse, mental illness, bad management, and intolerant girlfriends derailed their career. A 1982 posthumous LP (Timeless) became a holy grail for record collectors, and sealed Zolar X's legacy.
NOW: Longtime fan Jello Biafra (Dead Kennedys) released a deluxe edition of Timeless in late 2004. Inspired, Zolar X reformed in 2005! Lucky fans should expect metallic amp casings, silver platforms and backdrops, antennae headgear, and ever-changing outfits faithful to the 70's glam era. Whether you are glam, a punk, an indie-rocker, a cult (Psychotronic) movie fan, or still bitching about how Rush sold out in the 80's, Zolar X has something for you! Catch them now, before they once again, leave earth!

@keandrabranscum915 Even though that is considered spam, I don't care cause UFOs are awesome.

I think that the reason that there were SO many bands doing alien and space themes in the 70's is that we had just landed on the moon in 1969. That had such a powerful impact on people. Everyone was thinking about space travel, colonizing other planets, and more than anything else, extraterrestrial life.

No release date yet - but after many delays, it's looking like we'll be submitting this to film festivals for spring 2010. This summer will be spent editing an existing extended rough cut. There were so many great stories, it will be tough! Best to you, thanks for your interest.

I would buy this DVD in a heartbeat. Okay, so now the wait for the new CD is almost over. I have to continue to spread the word in the Chicago area... I'm not joking...
