Sorry but i'm on the side of colin from Civil Defence. I'm sure that our NZ Civil Defence, as well as other countrys get heaps of false calls about things that aren't even happening. This was something that needed to be handled safely. If idiots like Paul Henry ran the countrys civil defence, we'd have had people running for the lives, causing havoc on roads and in towns for no apparent reason.

So would you rather having people causing accidents and getting people all hyped up and overwhelmed over something that isn't going to be serious? If people choose to go to higher ground then that's fine. But when Paul Henry starts harassing and winging like a school kid with a guy who obviously isn't that confidant at public speaking, then HE is the one that starts to cause problems and makes things more confusing for the people trying to understand what is going on.
