@marksguitars5 Small Internet. I use to bend the sides for my metal body reso's with the building mold and a body form . Although the side was one piece of metal that wrapped aroung the form starting at the neck and ending at the cutaway it was a simular idea and I wondered if it would have worked with wood. So now I know.

Great presentation and job well done. Where did you source your heat blanket and thermocoupler and temp switch?

side thickness - 2mm. I did wet the wood first by pouring water on it, smearing it around with a cloth and shaking off the excess. Heat of blanket unknown as I just start with the temp control wound right up, and bend the wood according to how it feels. As soon as its bent I turn it back to 100C. Hope this is helpful to you.

great. Just building one at the moment. Got all the parts at omega. Do you think this method is preferable over the tightening system like the LMII side bender uses? This one is at least easier to build :)

Did you experiment any bending problem with all kind of wood (maple, cocobolo, east Indian rosewood.)

Ziricote can be a bit of problem, and maple depending on how it is cut tends to ripple and warp given the chance, although the solid forms do help prevent this greatly.
